No matter what I think of Emma Watson, I support this message. But I know there are people out there who will jump on this and be like, “OMG YOU’RE SLUT-SHAMING! How dare you tell women what they can and can’t wear!” And that’s what kills me about this. I know there are people who read this very classy statement from the actress and instantly had that thought. What is wrong with her expressing her personal opinion that a mini skirt isn’t essential to sexiness? Nothing. It’s a perfectly fine statement. She’s saying “my idea of sexy is”. Literally. That’s a quote. This is her personal opinion, and I agree with it. You don’t have to. But I’m warning you now: if you STILL feel the need to rip this apart, it’s purely from your own insecurities, feeling that you really do need to be scantily clad to get people to consider you one with “sex appeal.”
^^ Agreed! I personally think we all need to find our own idea of what ‘sexy’ is, rather than thinking we need to fit a model of ‘sexy’ that exists in the media or in our friends.
